Misinformation about COVID-19 is all over messaging and social media apps, and it can be tricky to spot, but there are some key giveaways to look out for.

If... the source is your friend's mum's neighbour's hairdresser whose brother-in-law is head of the NHS... then it's probably rubbish

If... it's all over messaging apps and social media, but there's no mention on any verifiable sources...then it's probably rubbish

if...someone espouses absolute certainty on a subject that has experts scratching their heads.. then it's probably rubbish

if...it's a cure for a virus that seems too good to be true... then it's probably rubbish
